Hofner 500/1 Sunburst Hollow Body c.1972 Vintage Left Handed Electric Bass Vintage Sunburst - RefurbishedThis is a Hofner 500/1 left handed electric bass in Sunburst finish. Although there is no serial number present on the instrument, the specification, hardware and headstock logo all point towards the instrument's manufacture around 1972. This includes the 513 'Blade' pickups with embossed Hofner logo, short trapeze tailpiece, single closed clip tuning machines, Lacquered Gold headstock logo and control panel configuration all being available from around 1968-'75. It would appear that the pots have been replaced at some point, with the codes on the replacement pots unfortunately containing no dating information. The Hofner 500/1 was invented by Walter Hofner in 1955, and first shown at the Frankfurt Music fair in 1956. In around July of 1961, Stuart Sutcliffe lent his Hofner bass to Paul McCartney until Paul was able to afford his own. At the time, Hofner did not make a production left handed model, and so the custom order that McCartney made in '61 was likely the very first left handed version of the instrument ever made. Paul eventually acquired another 500/1 in around 1963, which featured the wider pickup separation that was introduced by Hofner in 1962 to achieve a more distinct sound from each pickup. Both of these basses featured heavily in the Beatles work, with the '61 model making its final Beatles appearance in the 1969 Apple Corporation rooftop concert. The Hofner 500/1 has become synonymous with McCartney through his continued use of the instrument throughout his career, with the instrument maintaining an incredible level of popularity due to its association with McCartney & the Beatles. The 500/1 bass undeniably plays exceptionally well. It's hollow-body construction keeps the weight low, enhancing comfort for the player. The violin shape of the body lends itself very well to upper fret access. whilst the pronounced waist of the instrument means that it is comfortable to play in a seated position. The 30" scale is shorter than the typical 34" found on many Fender type basses, offering a reduced string tension for a slinky and smooth feel to the strings. The profile to the rear of the neck might be described as a rounded 'C' shape, which whilst certainly on the thicker side avoids feeling unwieldy. The 12" radius of the fingerboard is practical for a wide range of playing styles and techniques, whilst the Rosewood surface is comfortable under the fingers. The dual pickup setup along with the hollow-body construction delivers a deep, smooth tone, with plenty of dynamic range and control. The control panel is comprehensive, allowing you to blend the pickups into any combination and ensuring that the sound is versatile enough for almost any musical situation. An incredibly well-preserved vintage bass with an unparalleled pedigree.1320,00 £*Shipping: 0,00 £Secure redirect to the provider

Heritage H575 Autumn Sunburst 1995 Archtop Hollow Body Jazz Guitar Sunburst - RefurbishedThis is a very special Heritage H575 in Autumn Sunburst finish. The Heritage brand was born in 1985 after Gibson closed their Kalamazoo plant in 1984 and relocated to the Nashville plant. Some of the Gibson staff who did not move to Tennessee purchased space in the factory, and Heritage Guitars was founded in 1985. Drawing on the former Gibson employees passion for traditional, high quality luthiery, Heritage models are largely based on popular Gibson designs, but make use of solid woods rather than the laminated constructions Gibson had been using. This H575 model shares many similarities with Gibson's ES-175. The serial number of this instrument indicates that it was manufactured at the Kalamazoo plant in 1995. A set-neck construction is employed, and comprises an all-solid Figured Maple body, Mahogany neck and 20 fret Rosewood fingerboard, with matching bridge. Nickel hardware is fitted, including a trapeze tailpiece, TOM bridge, and Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. A pair of Schaller passive humbucking pickups are installed, and are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume and tone controls. The Mahogany neck plays fantastically well, with a moderately-sized profile which might be described as a 'D' shape thanks to the slightly flattened area to the centre. This provides a comfortable place for the thumb to rest while playing, perfect for reaching those tricky chord voicings and breezing through smooth lead lines and solos. The Gloss finish to the rear assists with smooth navigation of the 24.75" scale, whilst the Florentine cutaway improves access to the upper register. The Rosewood fingerboard is pleasant under the fingers, and with its 12" radius is equally practical for chordal and melodic playing. The amplified tone of the H575 exemplifies what is meant when people talk about the 'Jazz box' guitar tone. Smooth and dark, the tone is warm and round but also clear and articulate, chiming with a quality that is spacious and airy while also being distinct and bell-like. The solid wood construction of the body provides a rich resonance, making the sound very reactive to the player's touch. Lightly rolling down the volume and tone controls allows the guitar to ring through with its characteristic clarity and warmth, providing a richness that is sought after by many. It's easy to see why Heritage has garnered such a positive reputation.3020,00 £*Shipping: 0,00 £Secure redirect to the provider

Gibson Les Paul Classic Heritage Cherry Sunburst 2019 Electric Guitar Cherry Sunburst - RefurbishedThis is a Gibson Les Paul Classic in Heritage Cherry Sunburst finish. Made in the USA in 2019, this guitar of course features a set-neck construction comprising a Mahogany body with Maple top, Mahogany neck and 22 fret Rosewood fingerboard. Nickel hardware is fitted including an ABR-1 ToM bridge, StopBar tailpiece & Grover Rotomatic tuning machines. A pair of Zebra coil Gibson Burstbucker pickups are installed, with a 61R in the neck and 61T in the bridge. These are wired to a 3-way toggle switch and independent volume & tone controls, with independent push/pull coil splits for each of the pickups, as well as push/pull phase reverse & Pure Bypass functions on the tone controls. The Mahogany neck plays very well, with its Slim Taper profile providing all the 'chunk' and character you would expect from a Gibson without being at all cumbersome. The Gloss finish to the rear assists in smooth transitions up and down the neck, whilst the traditional 12" fingerboard radius offers a nicely flat and consistent playing surface right the way up the register. Medium jumbo frets offer a rock-solid playing surface whilst enhancing the feel of string bending & vibrato techniques. The familiar lines of the Les Paul body feel as comfortable as ever in the arms, whilst the 9-hole weight relief adds practicality whilst retaining a traditionally hefty feel. The Zebra coil Gibson Burstbucker humbucker in the neck position provides the thick and creamy tone that Les Paul's are renowned for. A warm yet detailed low end is complemented by a rich mid range and sweet trebles, with roundness and plenty of sustain for rock solo tones. The Burstbucker 61T in the bridge is hotter, with a high output and bright glassy tone with clean settings that drives into beautifully saturated harmonic distortion as you crank the gain. The addition of push/pull controls for coil splitting, phase reverse and Pure Bypass add a plethora of sonic options & practicality for live use - the Pure Bypass function sends the bridge pickup directly to the output without adjusting any of the other controls.1650,00 £*Shipping: 0,00 £Secure redirect to the provider
